*Watch the following video ^ and be prepared to discuss in class, and write something in class.
*Using Proper MLA Heading and Formatting, you are to write a minimum ONE PAGE response to the following prompt:
Discuss the relationship between Toni Cade Bambara's short story "The Lesson" and Spike Lee's film "Do The Right Thing".
You must include:
*2 quotes from the short story
*Analysis of one specific scene from the film
You will hand in a PRINTED out copy in class on Tuesday.
*Complete the "Study Guide: Analyzing Shot-to-Shot Editing" writing assignment. Use the directions on page 71 to guide you in your writing. This writing must be complete and thorough in order to receive full credit. If you use youtube.com. list the youtube.com web link for reference.
* Complete the chapter on Sound, Chapter 5
*Complete the reading for Chapter 4, Editing. Take the necessary notes concerning the italicized terms and other important terms from this chapter.
*Bring your books to class

*Complete the assigned writing assignment for chapter 1. Pages 21-23 - Study Guide - Analyzing the Shot. This will be collected next class. A concentrated single paragraph.
*Be sure to read Chapter 3 on Cinematography.
*Read chapter 2: Mise-en-Scene: Camera Movement and be prepared on a quiz of the major terms found within the chapter. Focus on the following terms:
-mobile framing
-pan
-tilt
-moving shot
-tracking shot (dolly shot)
-zoom
-motivated/unmotivated camera movements
-sequence shot
-6 zones of offscreen space
-reframing
be sure to not only know the definitions of these terms, but to also be able to answer some questions about them as there will be questions on this quiz relating to the terms as well. Have a nice weekend!
